Congratulations, Verel and Delvon! After being together for 10 years, they’re officially husband and wife. They planned a gorgeous Tampa wedding day at the Rusty Pelican, that really leaned into the tropical vibes of Florida. It was a beautiful celebration and I’m so honored I was able to celebrate with Verel, Delvon, and their guests.
Their Love Story
Verel and Delvon met while they were at Florida A&M University in 2013. Verel is originally from Trinidad & Tobago and he’s from Pensacola. They were both studying to be pharmacists and met over potato chips in orientation. In fact, Verel made the first move – she told Delvon she was hungry and he bought her chips. They began talking and right away, Verel knew that Delvon would one day be her husband! They’ve truly been inseparable ever since. In 2021, they got engaged and as of their wedding day, they’ve been together for 10 years. When I asked Verel and Delvon about what they loved about each other, I was so happy to hear their responses. She loves how caring he is, and how put together he is and complements her. She loves how he treats other women, without interest, how respectful and kind, giving and a gentleman he is. It’s so sweet!
Tampa Wedding Day at The Rusty Pelican
The day of Verel and Delvon’s wedding day, it was raining pretty hard. However, luckily, the weather cleared up in time for their outdoor ceremony. It wound up being so beautiful! I absolutely loved the fun tropical vibes that Verel and Delvon chose to include in their ceremony at the gazebo at the Rusty Pelican. Verel’s bridesmaids carried bouquets featuring gorgeous large leaves and the bridal party wore bright pink gowns and ties, too. It was amazing and it turns out that Verel’s mother actually created the arrangements and decor! Before the ceremony, Verel and Delvon also shared an emotional first look. Those overflowing emotions carried into the ceremony, too. Seriously, it was perfect!
Tropical Inspired Wedding Reception
Verel and Delvon’s reception took place inside the event space at the Rusty Pelican. It looked out over the water in Tampa, FL and was so gorgeous. Verel and Delvon brought more tropical vibes into the reception – with gold and green decor that Verel’s mother designed. Paired with white table cloths, the tropical centerpieces really popped! I loved capturing some quiet moments with Verel and Delvon inside the reception space during their first look. It was a great time to see the beautiful decor, but also have a moment alone! The best part of their reception might be Verel’s second gown. It was so fun – with feathered accents on the shoulders and a form fitting shape. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Verel and Delvon, congratulations! I absolutely loved every moment of your bright, tropical wedding day at The Rusty Pelican. This was the perfect way to celebrate 10 years together – and the start of your next chapter as newlyweds together!
