Victoria and Peyton are such a sweet couple (and have the best fashion sense!). Their Downtown Tampa engagement session was chic and stylish. We explored around City Hall and Le Meridien for their portraits and I loved the chance to get to chat with them about wedding planning, their relationship, and so much more!
Their Love Story
Victoria and Peyton met at a mutual friend’s party in Charleston in May of 2018. They found out they were both from the area and even attending the same university. They talked all night and into the morning. The next day, Peyton asked Victoria to dinner, and as she told me: “The next day, Peyton asked me to dinner. There was no time for awkward silences and our energies matched so well, the attraction was palpable.” After dinner that night, Peyton quickly made things official and asked Victoria to be his girlfriend. She thought he was a little crazy since they’d only known each other a day, but said yes. They’re definitely a case of “when you know, you know”!
Clearly, that feeling was right. Peyton and Victoria have spent the last 3 and a half years together – graduating college, adopting cats, moving together and moving states. In September, Peyton proposed and now, they’re getting ready to get married!
Apollo Beach Proposal
Peyton had the ring he wanted to propose with for a year – but, they finally got engaged on September 4th of last year. While Victoria knew about the ring, she didn’t know anything about the proposal and it was a perfect surprise! Peyton set up a picnic at Apollo beach. He brought champagne and mini charcuterie boards for them to enjoy, too!. When Victoria and Peyton arrived there was a chalkboard sign that read “love of my life and keeper of my soul” with the symbols for Aries and Libra, our astrological signs, drawn on the bottom. They sipped champagne and ate, and slowly the rain started to fall.
When Victoria looked over to Peyton as the storm rolled through, he was down on one knee. She obviously said yes – and they went back to their apartment to call their family and friends, and celebrate with their cats!
What to Wear for Your Engagement Session
When choosing outfits for your engagement session, choose something you love and feel like yourself in! The outfits you pick are an easy way to bring you personality to your portraits. Victoria and Peyton have such great fashion sense and I absolutely love the dresses she chose for our portraits. Both were white, clearly showing that she’s a bride-to-be but had so much of her personality in them! Peyton was able to swap between two looks to compliment his fiancee and they both looked spectacular. PS. Want more ideas about what to wear? Check out some inspiration here!
